Saturday, March 24 from 9:30-11:30
Location: KinderFarm (the lower level of Kenwood Lutheran Church, 2720 Myers Avenue)
$16 for a Parent-Child pair (includes craft materials & snack)
$8 for an additional sibling (infants welcome free of charge)
We provide a nurturing setting for meeting other parents, sharing unhurried moments with your child, observing your child in play, and for social interaction.
Throughout the morning we share ideas for parenting with warmth, while exploring the developmental stages of growth in the young child.
Our time together includes creative play with purposefully selected toys and materials from nature that nourish the young child’s developing senses. We will make seasonal crafts, cook our healthy snack together, and have rich parent discussions. The rhythm will include circle time with songs, finger games, nursery rhymes & stories.
Each class typically consists of six parents along with their toddlers and younger siblings.
Today’s scientific research supports what we have known for many years: when young children are given opportunities to learn through play, these experiences foster imagination, concentration, coordination, language and number skills -- capacities which lay a solid foundation for intellectual development in the elementary school years and beyond.
