{"id":1347,"date":"2019-05-23T09:52:55","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T08:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/?p=1347"},"modified":"2019-05-23T09:52:55","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T08:52:55","slug":"major-project-of-the-year-winner-battenhall-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/major-project-of-the-year-winner-battenhall-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Major Project of the Year winner &#8211; Battenhall Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to all our colleagues and partners on the Battenhall Bridge project \u2013 thanks to your teamwork, innovative engineering and project management, it was awarded Major Project of the year at the ICE West Midlands awards last night.<\/p>\n<p>The narrow Battenhall Rail Bridge was a major obstacle to upgrading a key road in south Worcestershire. Extending the bridge had to be achieved within a tight budget and it was critical that the railway line was closed only for the very short agreed time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-975\" src=\"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/aerial-view-with-spmt-wide-1000w.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was very little space for a new bridge span to be put in place; the old and new bridges had to be directly adjoining one-another.
