{"id":1388,"date":"2019-07-22T11:01:02","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T10:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/?p=1388"},"modified":"2019-07-22T11:01:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T10:01:02","slug":"foundation-pilings-completed-for-coventry-station-masterplan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/foundation-pilings-completed-for-coventry-station-masterplan\/","title":{"rendered":"Foundation Pilings Completed for Coventry Station Masterplan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Works at Coventry Station are progressing well with the completion\nof a key portion of piles that form a part of the foundations for the new\nstation building and multi-storey car park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Coventry Station Masterplan was devised to provide\nsubstantial improvements to Coventry station, supporting large increases in\npassenger numbers and improving integration with other transport networks. SLC\nRail is supporting the Council with commercial and design management, project\nmanagement and delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The piles are part of the enabling works, which include an access\ntunnel under the Warwick Road dual carriageway, as well as a new accessible footbridge\nand platform canopies. They will support the new, second entrance building\nwhich includes a multi-storey car park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Coventry-station-architect-drawing-1-1000w.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-962\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the coming months the station itself will see major\nworks, the next key activity will be further piling and excavation of the\nembankment adjacent to Platform 4, to make space for the new, accessible\nfootbridge to be constructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The piling and ongoing works have been designed and carried\nout with minimal disruption to passengers, as the station and platforms remain\noperational throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more about the project and its background in our <a href=\"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/projects\/coventry-station-masterplan\/\">project profile<\/a>.<\/p>\n    \t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Works at Coventry Station are progressing well with the completion of a key portion of piles that form a part of the foundations for the new station building and multi-storey car park.
