{"id":2351,"date":"2022-06-30T10:33:22","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T09:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/?p=2351"},"modified":"2022-06-30T10:33:22","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T09:33:22","slug":"slc-providing-services-for-global-centre-of-rail-excellence-gcre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/slc-providing-services-for-global-centre-of-rail-excellence-gcre\/","title":{"rendered":"SLC providing services for Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Rail project development and delivery\u00a0specialist, SLC, is providing rail expertise, programme and procurement strategy support.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>GCRE is a \u00a3200m rail testing facility that will accelerate innovation in the rail sector.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SLC is providing a number of its specialist rail programme management services to support the development of the Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE), a new \u00a3200m research and development facility in Wales that will become a global hub for rolling stock and infrastructure testing, innovation, storage and maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>The company has already assisted GCRE with the procurement of the project including the multidisciplinary Rail System Outline Design Package, which defines the technical requirements of the railway test facility.<\/p>\n<p>SLC is now liaising with multiple stakeholders to identify interdependencies and developing the governance approach of this complex programme.\u00a0 It is also managing the interface of the design package and developing an approach to the future transition of CDM responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Nathan Campsall, Director of SLC said:\u00a0 \u201cThe rail industry will really benefit from this facility &#8211; capitalising on\u00a0innovation and new technology, driving efficiencies for the industry and further development of a sustainable railway.\u00a0 We\u2019re proud and excited to be working on this project with GCRE Ltd and its partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve supported the rail industry for over a decade, working with partners on a range of projects from building new stations to opening new lines.
