{"id":2695,"date":"2023-03-01T10:23:30","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T10:23:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/?p=2695"},"modified":"2023-03-01T10:23:30","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T10:23:30","slug":"community-rail-network-to-benefit-from-slcs-expertise-after-corporate-charity-partnership-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/community-rail-network-to-benefit-from-slcs-expertise-after-corporate-charity-partnership-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Rail Network to benefit from SLC\u2019s expertise after corporate charity partnership deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SLC Rail and SLC Property have announced a new corporate charity partnership agreement with Community Rail Network.\u00a0 This will see the rail and property experts provide a range of specialist advice to Community Rail Network to help them continue to keep stations at the heart of the community.<\/p>\n<p>Community Rail Network is a network of over 75 community rail partnerships and 1,200 station adoption groups, all playing an important role in social inclusion, community wellbeing and sustainable, healthy travel.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this partnership, SLC will provide a financial donation and a contribution of its in-house expertise to help Community Rail Network\u2019s members to successfully spearhead community-led initiatives bringing disused station buildings into community use and turning stations into community hubs. This will include helping them to engage with station masterplans, develop how the station interfaces with the local community, and negotiate property lease arrangements, asset ownership, regulatory consents processes and more.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2699\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2699\" style=\"width: 426px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2699 \" src=\"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/We-believe-that-railway-stations-should-be-a-vital-part-of-the-community-they-serve.IanWalters-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"284\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2699\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cWe believe that railway stations should be a vital part of the community they serve.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ian Walters, Managing Director of SLC Rail, said: \u201cWe have a strong passion for how the railways can contribute to social, economic, and sustainability goals.\u00a0 As part of our work to improve connectivity for local people, we believe that railway stations should be a vital part of the community they serve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why we\u2019re delighted to support Community Rail Network\u2019s valuable work, and by sharing our industry and projects experience we can help to develop and deliver these important local rail schemes.
