{"id":4622,"date":"2025-02-27T17:33:18","date_gmt":"2025-02-27T17:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/?p=4622"},"modified":"2025-02-27T17:40:23","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T17:40:23","slug":"paul-joins-the-engineering-councils-quality-assurance-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slcrail.com\/paul-joins-the-engineering-councils-quality-assurance-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul joins the Engineering Council\u2019s Quality Assurance Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">SLC, a development and delivery specialist in Birmingham, is pleased to announce that one of its employees has recently been asked to join the Engineering Council\u2019s Quality Assurance Committee (QAC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Paul McQuade, SLC&#8217;s Programme Manager and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (<span class=\"mark4rar5968e\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">ICE<\/span>), will support the Engineering Council to help determine whether licensees are considered competent to assess applicants for professional registration against the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence and Commitment (UK-SPEC), also to accredit \/ approve academic courses, qualifications and apprenticeships against Accreditation of Higher Education Programmes (AHEP) and Approval and Accreditation of Qualifications and Apprenticeships (AAQA).<\/p>\n<p>The Engineering Council was set up to maintain the internationally recognised standards for the UK engineering profession, found in the UK-SPEC and the ICTTech Standard.<\/p>\n<p>Paul said: \u00a0&#8220;Throughout my career, I have taken on various volunteering roles, including serving as an\u00a0<span class=\"mark4rar5968e\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">ICE<\/span>\u00a0Reviewer and Auditor, as I\u2019ve always been passionate about giving back to the industry and supporting the next generation of professionals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am looking forward to contributing to the QAC in its mission to uphold professional excellence and maintain high standards.
